Our Half-Day Camp Themes
Camp #1 Science Explorations
Children discover how to send secret messages to their friends using special codes, explore how Newton's laws are at work in their favorite sports, and become young astronauts while exploring the mysteries of the solar system.
Camp #2 Moving with Science
Kids put on their engineer's hats for this exciting week of science activities. They also learn about chemical reactions that they might encounter in their daily lives and the nature of birds and beasts, as they take a walk on the wild side of science.
Camp #3 Yuckology
Children explore the inside of the body and learn about the organ systems and the cells that it's composed of. They discover cool chemical reactions, and how to solve a crime, in this hands-on summer science adventure!
Camp #4 Rockin' Rockets
This program focuses on rockets and the physics of rocket flight. After learning the model rocket safety code, campers build several different types of rockets and participate in the launching of 5 different rockets.
Camp #5 Wings and Things
From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this hands-on program will allow them to build many different flying devices, see how Newton's laws of motion help explain how things move and how rockets fly, and show them how amazing our Milky Way is.
Camp #6 Let's Get Growing (Preschool)
This five-session preschool camp offers young children (ages 3-5) an exciting introduction to basic environmental science. With each session, children enrich their understanding of how living things grow and how they interact with the environment around them, through different aspects of the garden.
Camp #7 Red Hot Robots
Children ages 7 to 12 learn about the uses of robots in our world and spend time experimenting with super cool red-hot robots. They discover the science of circuits and how robots use sensors to explore things around them. They build their very own working robot to take home with them!
Camp #8 Spy Academy
This program features fun-filled, hands-on, secret agent-themed science activities that allow kids to play detective, explore forensic science, sharpen their surveillance skills, and crack encrypted messages. Kids become super sleuths!
Camp #9 Eureka!
Children overcome a series of challenges using basic materials, simple machines, tips from famous inventors, and most importantly, their minds. With a bit of ingenuity, they create catapults and forts, construct working light sticks, and assemble a set of circuits with batteries and light bulbs.
Camp #10 NASA OPSPARC
Think and act like NASA innovators during this hands-on program inspired by the NASA OPTIMUS PRIME Spinoff Promotion and Research Challenge (NASA OPSPARC). Use creative and collaborative skills to design a mission patch, train like an astronaut, and solve real-world engineering problems. How might space suit cooling tubes be used to solve a problem here on Earth?
Camp #11 Underground Explorers
Kids learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities! They discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life! They also study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils. Each class also includes a make and take-home project, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins from around the world!
